Revised: October 2023
Failure to follow practices relating to your safety or that of fellow teammates,
tradespeople, and the public, or failure to safeguard equipment, tools, materials
or property properly, will lead to disciplinary action.
All teammates shall attend all short "tool box" type safety meetings conducted
by supervisory personnel. Not only do these meetings stress regular safe
practices, but they are also used to communicate changes in safety related
matters. Please take these meetings seriously and pay attention to the material
covered.
For your protection, all warning signs such as "Keep Out", "No Smoking", or
"Authorized Personnel Only", etc., shall be strictly adhered to
The wearing of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing
protection, or other equipment deemed necessary for your protection is
mandatory when performing any job where such personal protective equipment
is required. The direction of your Safety Supervisor(s) must be followed. Failure
to do so will result in disciplinary action.
Good housekeeping practices shall be observed at all times in the workplace. Do
not leave tools, scrap, or other materials where they can pose a hazard to others.
Recognize that your safety is ultimately your own responsibility, and "common
sense" is many times your best protection from injury. If something does not
look safe, or if you are doing something that does not seem safe; chances are it
probably is not safe. Rather than continuing and "taking your chances", let your
supervisor know immediately.
Recognize that safety is a "two-way street". You during your day-to-day activities
may see things which are not readily apparent to management or supervisory
personnel. Your suggestions and input in these matters are not only appreciated,
but they are also vital to the ongoing success of our safety efforts. If you have a
"better idea", we want to hear it.
In the event of an incident which requires a health care facility visit, the
competent person – generally the TEAMWRKX Construction superintendent onsite – is to arrange for sufficient transportation along with the harmed
teammate’s supervisor.
In the unfortunate event of a teammate’s eyes coming in contact with a
hazardous substance or in the case of irritation, eye washing equipment shall be
readily available for the harmed teammate.
TEAMWRKX Construction does not conduct random drug screen testing as there
is no need to do so at this time.
If there is a reasonable suspicion that a teammate involved in an incident had
recently used drugs or alcohol, the investigation and subsequent testing must
take place within two (2) hours following the incident, if not sooner. Under no
circumstances will the teammate be allowed to drive themselves to a testing
facility.
