13.15 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
A Teammate may encounter hazardous or questionable substances or chemicals during
the course of work. Should this happen, the Teammate should immediately report the
questionable substance to their supervisor. The Teammate should be aware that this
employer complies with the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), and has Safety Data
Sheets (SDS) available upon your request. A list of these items is recorded by the Safety
Officers and can be presented on request. Furthermore, any and all chemical information
will be provided to teammates on multiple worksites or multiple TEAMWRKX worksites.
By doing this, teammates will be able to have quick, reliable access to information about
any potentially hazardous chemicals or materials present at TEAMWRKX job sites.
An SDS provides information the manufacturer of a chemical considers necessary for you,
the worker, to determine what chemicals are in a product and what steps to take to
protect yourself when using the product. TEAMWRKX Construction does not store
hazardous chemicals, but when containers of hazardous chemicals are present on
jobsites, we require that our subcontractors have them properly labeled in compliance
with OSHA and have the SDS sheet readily available. Ultimately, it is TEAMWRKX’
responsibility to ensure all hazardous chemical/material containers are properly labeled,
a task that is performed by our Chief Safety Officer, the Assistant Safety Officer, and all
other appointed teammates.
