Respiratory equipment will be required for any area where a suspected health
hazard may exist due to the accumulation of harmful fumes, vapors, or dusts.
Any and all electrical work must be done with properly insulated and inspected
electrical tools specifically designed for the task at hand.
Appropriate ear protection must be worn in any situation where the excessive
noise is present (85 dBA and greater)
If Teammate observes any fellow tradespeople and/or public failing to wear
appropriate protection equipment, STOP all activity and report this event to
your supervisor immediately.
13.25 RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
Occasionally, our work may necessitate the use of respirators to protect against air
contaminants. Due to the limitations of respirators, TEAMWRKX Construction will make
every effort to provide other means of protection, such as local exhaust ventilation, or
substitution of less hazardous material, prior to requiring teammates to wear them.
When material substitution, removal of harmful dusts, fumes, mists, vapors, or gases at
their source is impractical, or when emergency protection is needed briefly, the
teammates exposed to such a hazard will use approved respiratory equipment. All
teammates who need to use said equipment shall inspect it before use. Furthermore, all
respiratory equipment must be properly cleaned and stored prior to use. It is the
responsibility of the Safety Team to ensure the quality of the cleanliness of the respiratory
equipment. One way to ensure the proper storing of the respirators is to keep them in a
dry, clean cabinet or box away from moisture and other possible contaminants.
Whenever respirators are required to be used to control harmful exposures, only
respiratory equipment approved for that purpose shall be used and such equipment shall
be approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Only
parts approved for the specific respirator system shall be used for replacement.
